Its the age old debate: THINGS vs. EXPERIENCES

I like nice things.  I like getting nice things.  I guess the very existence of this blog is evidence of how much I like nice things. I know it's been a popular enough question about what brings more joy. Purchases or experiences? Some say the joy of a purchase never lasts as long, while memories of experiences last forever.

There are definitely some purchases I've made that have given me very little joy. At the time of course, I had to have them- kinda like those pants that are amazing in the store and you need to have, but have somehow never been worn or sit in the back of your closet.

On the other hand, I always fondly remember trips with my friends, studying abroad in Paris, honeymoon in Santorini. But I have to admit, memories can be tricky.  We tend to remember the good and forget the bad.  Cos, if I think really hard, I'd remember the experiences that fell short. When it rained too hard, when the food was crap, when I was ready to go home.

Thing is, neither is perfect.  I love my purchases, can't live without my laptop and still luv that one pair of jeans that fits so perfect, I barely wear the others . But I also love road trips, food tours  and exploring new places.  I believe you can have it all.  So I'll cheat and say.  Why should I have to choose?

HONESTLY THOUGH: Personal Opinion on the above: I won't be spending $2K on a bag, I'll definitely be choosing the trip, not judging, that's just me.
