When did you start selling on Etsy and Why Etsy?
I started my first shop Nomoi on Etsy on the 5th of January 2010. I started Nomoi Koru June 23th the same year. Etsy seemed to be a really good match for me. It's a huge international marketplace, I was (and still am) really impressed with the community aspect of it and how organically it seemed to work. The blog was a huge source of information and inspiration for me when I was starting my business.
Is this a full time gig for you?
I got a dayjob a couple of months ago, so it's not a full time gig at the moment. It's sometimes hard to find the time to do everything, but I try to do as much as I can on the weekends. I haven't been able to make as many new designs as I'd like to, but for the most part I manage ok.
What's your personal fav item in your shop right now?
I'm really into the bangles, especially the bird bangles! I'm constantly learning new techniques to work with them, and I feel like I'm just getting started. I always seem to like the latest designs the most, so I'll probably have new favorites next week.
What was first item you ever made/sold?
The first item I ever sold on Etsy was a black cat brooch:

It's been by far the most popular item in my shop. I sold the last one in March, and I still get asked about it!
What are your plans for the future?
I'd love to have some custom elements made for my jewelry designs, and expand the product range to scarves and such. I also want to start screenprinting again and revive my other shop Nomoi, make a lot more artwork, travel, learn Spanish… etc.
Do you have a workspace?
My workspace is the bedroom of our duplex. My boyfriend has been more than gracious about it, although I'm a bit worried about the coveting glances he's been throwing that way lately!

And any books?
I used to read a lot, but I hardly ever do anymore, I have no idea why! It's hard to name a favorite book, but I like Kurt Vonnegut for example.
As always, any brunch recommendations (for when I visit Finland)?
Brunch is really not a big thing in Finland, I have no idea what to recommend! This time of year I would probably go for fresh fruits and vegetables; strawberries, sugar peas, tomatoes etc. (not characteristically Finnish though, sorry!)
