NOW LISTENING: FRANCESCO YATES

And once again, I have to say thank goodness for Shazam for that moment when I fall in love with a  track within the first 4 seconds of hearing it and know that I have to quickly whip out my phone and figure out who and what I'm hearing. That in a nutshell is how I discovered Francesco Yates, cos I'm sure we can all agree by now, the radio is determined to play the same 10 songs every hour on the hour and there's hardly any radio surprises anymore.

So about Francesco, here's what I found out: he's Pharrell produced, he's only 18 and writes his own music (I wouldn't have thunk that from just listening), he lists MJ,  Marvin Gaye and Queen as his influences,  he has the most badass curly hair afro- I love it, and he's Canadian- go Canada.
