Little touches

One of the first things I'm doing in 2012 is a little apartment refresher. 

Not an altogether makeover, just a few updates and new touches to make  my place feel fresh and somewhat new. 

My usual suspects involve new rugs, pillows, lampshades and a touch of paint.

This year, I'm going to try a little something different- stenciling.

I'll be stenciling, more than likely on an accent wall.

Stenciling sometimes gets a bad rap, but can be brilliant when done right. I also didn't want to deal with any wallpaper mishaps. Hopefully, I'm proud enough of final look to share.

Where else but Etsy would I turn to for inspiration.

Finally decided on this one below from CuttingEdgeStencils. So excited, can't wait to get it.
