HITTING THE ROAD: WITH AUDI
I mentioned in a previous post that I plan on getting away as much as I can this summer. Most of the trips will be day-trips or weekend getaways which means a car ride will be my transportation of choice.
I’ve always preferred a roadtrip to other forms of transport- You see more than you would on a plane and you have more flexibility with stops than you would on a bus or train. And if you’re lucky like I recently was, you get to do it all in the extreme comfort of an Audi Q5. During my recent trip to Philly, I got to try out the brand new 2018 Audi Q5 and if I thought I loved it before when I spotted it in the showroom, I loved it even more driving from NYC to Philly and around Philly.
That it’s a beautiful car is a given, that it is super responsive and that it makes even bumpy New York roads feel newly tarred are just a few of the pleasant surprises.
Because I’m such a techie, my fave part had to be all the tech that is a part of this machine. The Audi comes with a virtual cockpit- yes I said cockpit. It is a fully digital 12.3-inch display behind the steering wheel that allows the driver to customize information such as navigation and audio, offering infotainment as well as Google Earth or Google Street View screen options. Perfect for checking out shops and cafes in Philly’s hip neighborhoods like Old City, and Fishtown.
I’m in love with how smart this car is. The Audi suite of available advanced driver assistance technologies works to alert you to unpredictable shifts that may come your way other vehicles in your blindspots, and its super helpful when getting in and out of those tight parking spaces. Oh, and the backup camera is there too.
You can tell that Audi thought of everything when they designed this car. When it comes to luxury touches, the panoramic roof and the Bang & Olufsen speakers added that extra dose of special. No road trip is complete without the perfect playlist and I’ve decided every car I need to be in from now on, has to match Audi’s 19 speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system.
Shallow as it may sound, best of all was stepping out of this beauty- If head-turns counted as likes… the Audi Q5 was certainly trending!
And for those of you who have been waiting for Part 2 of my Philly trip recap- fret not… I didn’t forget ya, more to come:
